For some reason, when the weather changes in springtime, I get a burst of energy and motivation to change things up in my life. I always get several inches chopped off my hair, buy fun, colorful sundresses for end of school year events and parties, and recommit to spending more time outside getting exercise and Vitamin D. This year, in addition to all this, this spring I’ve been hit with the desire to totally redecorate our primary bedroom– something we haven’t done in almost 15 years of marriage. It’s time.

Our current bedroom is full of dark, traditional oversized furniture that isn’t my taste any longer. I’ve been searching online for bedroom furniture (specifically a bed, chair, dresser, and nightstands) that are more sleek and modern, and that will also lighten up the room. Price is also a big factor for me, so I need furniture that is great quality but also really affordable. I was delighted to discover that Walmart has super stylish home furnishings at a great price. I am a regular Walmart shopper for everything; I get my groceries, personal care and makeup items, and lots of my clothes there. Side note: Have you seen their new spring fashion lines? Adorable. So because I buy almost everything else there, it makes sense to buy new bedroom furniture from them too!

Bed

The simple style can complement any interior design style, so I won’t be stuck with one type of bedding. This is great, because I love to change out simple, less expensive items like bedding and accessories every few years without having to replace bigger ticket furniture.

Chair

I fell in love with this Queer Eye Brie Accent chair at first site, and I have to make it mine. The blue linen color is both perfectly fun and whimsical, as well as calming. The only other thing I need is the discipline to keep this beauty from becoming a clean laundry dumping spot.

Dresser

I am in desperate need of more clothing storage in our master bedroom, and this Bellamy Studios Sonoma 3-Drawer Solid Wood Walnut Dresser is perfect for what I need. I want a dedicated space to keep pajamas, loungewear, and socks and underwear, and this cute dresser looks up for the job. Plus, it matches the bed frame and I love the modern cutout handles.

Nightstands

I think nightstands are some of the most underrated pieces of furniture. My nightstand is the keeper of all my favorite things- books, my favorite water cup, snacks I’ve hidden from my children, and various products that help me sleep. I want my nightstand to be spacious and functional, but also stylish. This Bellamy Studios Madeline 3-Drawer Nightstand in walnut is going to hold all my treasures as well as look good doing it.

This spring, consider redecorating a room or two in your own home. With Walmart home furnishings, you can do this both stylishly and affordably. Giving part of your home a makeover can be fun and bring you a lot of joy as we enter into the spring and summer months. I have had so much fun browsing Walmart’s website of all the home furnishings they offer and dreaming of other rooms I can redecorate in the future.

Happy shopping and decorating, mamas!
