Meet Sarah Braukman, Co-Owner & Co-Founder of
How many children do you have? Please include their ages.
I have two daughters, ages 4 (going on 15) & 5
Do you have another job besides your Sister Site? If so, is it outside the home? Is it full-time or part-time?
I work full time at our local pediatric hospital as a Child Life Specialist in the Emergency Department. All of my hours are in 12 hour shifts, so I work 3 days a week, but they are very full days.
Are you an early bird or a night owl? (A.K.A. When do you get most of your work done?)
I am an early bird trapped in a night owl world. I am by nature, much more productive, awake and functional in the morning. However, circumstances have led me to a late night job and on the days that I work, I don’t get off until midnight. So, for consistency, I tend to keep later hours now and therefore do get most of my blog work done at night after the girls go to bed.
In 5 words, what does a typical day in your life as a Site Owner AND a mommy look like?
Busy, fun, adventurous, challenging, blessed
What would your tagline be?
“You can nap when you’re dead.”
What made you decide to join City Moms Blog Network as a Sister Site Owner?
The desire to challenge myself and try something new, a passion for motherhood, Cincinnati and writing and having experienced the value of the service provided through a fellow sister site already in existence.
In your opinion what is the biggest benefit to being part of City Moms Blog Network?

How do you maintain or try to maintain a work-life balance?
I try to set parameters on my work time so that I am not constantly on the computer. I set aside specific times to work on the blog and specific times that are all about my kids. I also am slowly learning to delegate and ask for help.
What is the greatest lesson you have learned as a Sister Site Owner?
I am capable of things I had no idea I was capable of… things that scared me when I started, but I am slowly starting to master.
What is the most rewarding thing about being a Sister Site Owner?
Knowing that I am impacting my community. I love seeing comments among my contributing team that show how supportive they are of one another. I love seeing the moms who are chatting with each other in our neighborhood groups or building each other up in comments on our posts. I have fallen even more in love with my city that I was before I started this gig.
What piece of advice would you give someone thinking about becoming a Sister Site Owner with CMBN?
Be open to possibility and your potential, but also realize that this is a business, not a hobby and therefore requires a full commitment. It will be what you make of it.

What is your biggest guilty pleasure?
The spinach and artichoke dip from one of the local Cincinnati pubs. I could take a bath in the stuff.
