How many children do you have? Please include their ages.
THREE! 10 year old stepson, 3 year old son, and a daughter born in August.
Do you have another job besides your Sister Site? If so, is it outside the home? Is it full-time or part-time?
Other than organizer of ALL FAMILY LIFE and stay-at-home with the little ones? No — NMB is my job!!
Are you an early bird or a night owl? (A.K.A. When do you get most of your work done?)
I actually do the majority of my work during “quiet time” in the afternoon (which is SOMETIMES nap time), but the evening is easier for me than the morning, generally.
In 5 words, what does a typical day in your life as a Site Owner AND a mommy look like?
Connecting, Chaotic, Fun, Amazing, Significant
What made you decide to join City Moms Blog Network as a Sister Site Owner?
My sister was having a blast with Red Stick Moms Blog (Baton Rouge), and it caught my attention. Nashville didn’t have anything like that! I knew with my work background and my love of connecting people that this was the perfect opportunity for me.
In your opinion what is the biggest benefit to being part of City Moms Blog Network?
I love that the network not only supports me and gives me the opportunity to connect local moms with each other, but I get to connect with other moms across the country doing the same thing. It’s has an incredible feel of teamwork.
How do you maintain or try to maintain a work-life balance?
Aren’t we all still working on that? Lately, I’ve worked very hard to hold specific office hours and to maintain time that is totally offline for my family. Getting organized (with the support and insight of other site owners) has been key to that.
What is the greatest lesson you have learned as a Sister Site Owner?
To look at the big picture — whether that applies to work/life balance, planning ahead, or being satisfied with where I am in the now as far as the site is concerned, it’s important to stay thankful and positive—the big picture helps.
What is the most rewarding thing about being a Sister Site Owner?
Seeing the site grow — in its reach, between its team members, among local moms… For me, it’s all about the women we serve.
What piece of advice would you give someone thinking about becoming a Sister Site Owner with CMBN?
It’s the best thing I’ve done for myself career-wise…it’s a lot of work—with a pretty big learning curve—and it is worth EVERY.SINGLE.MINUTE!
