Meet Angela Green, Owner & Founder of
2 Children – Lyla, 3 and Adaline, 11 Months (yes, I had a 2 month old when launching my site!)
Do you have another job besides your Sister Site? If so, is it outside the home? Is it full-time or part-time?
This is my full-time job. 🙂
Are you an early bird or a night owl? (A.K.A. When do you get most of your work done?)
I am an early bird, but I’ve had to learn to work when I can with two little ones (who rarely seem to sleep when I need them to most!) So for me, this often means I work after my kids go to sleep at night. At first, I had a hard time with this because I really do prefer waking up early, as that’s when I’m typically most productive. But I’ve learned to be flexible, and now I work when I can (and wouldn’t change this for anything as I have a lot more flexibility than I did at my previous “day job”.)
In 5 words, what does a typical day in your life as a Site Owner AND a mommy look like?
Quality Time AND Professional Fulfillment
What would your tagline be?
Taking care of business…everyday!
What made you decide to join City Moms Blog Network as a Sister Site Owner?
I was looking to make an impact in my community and realized there weren’t any quality local resources for moms. Then, I saw that one of my college friends was guest posting for Kansas City Moms Blog, and I immediately emailed CMBN’s Director because it sounded like something I had to be a part of! (And I was right!)
In your opinion what is the biggest benefit to being part of City Moms Blog Network?
Where do I even begin? The biggest benefit by far is knowing there is always someone willing to help, answer a question, listen to a vent session, provide necessary comic relief and inspire me to be the very best site owner I can possibly be. Not to mention the BRILLIANT ideas that are shared daily – I love that everyone in this network is willing to share their ideas so we all don’t have to “reinvent the wheel”!
How do you maintain or try to maintain a work-life balance?
This is a tough one no matter the situation! It’s definitely taken a few months, but we are finally in a pretty solid routine. At the beginning, it felt like I ate, slept and breathed Wichita Moms Blog (and I still do most of the time). But now, I make it a top priority to get out and do at least one fun thing with my kids each day. They are my top priority and the reason I do what I do. I don’t let myself take out my phone at all during our fun outing. I completely disconnect for that hour or two every single day – and it has changed our world!
What is the greatest lesson you have learned as a Sister Site Owner?
I have learned so much in such a short period of time. But I’d say the greatest thing I’ve learned is that you get out what you put in…it may just take some time, and that this is a marathon, not a sprint.
What is the most rewarding thing about being a Sister Site Owner?
Hearing feedback from local moms that WMB has benefited them in some way – that is why I do what I do, and it’s the best compliment I can receive!
What piece of advice would you give someone thinking about becoming a Sister Site Owner with CMBN?
This will be the craziest, most fun and rewarding ride you will ever embark on. But you better hop on now because you do NOT want to miss out!
Finish this sentence :: I have never…
played a musical instrument, dated anyone besides my husband or traveled overseas (except to Mexico).
What is your biggest guilty pleasure?
Watching back-to-back episodes of whatever is in my queue on Netflix, when I should most definitely be sleeping.
