Winter is coming, mamas.
As much as we want to fight it, it’s happening. For the majority of the country, winter means COLD and SNOW, and as if that’s not bad enough, it often means school delays and cancellations. In other words, not only is it too cold and nasty to go anywhere, but you also have a house full of crazy, cooped-up kids! Yikes!
In this January issue of Mom Must-Haves, we’ve got you covered with our favorite snow-day survival items that we just CAN’T live without. Fun activities for the kids, cute (and comfy) winter fashion for the moms, and let’s face it: we all need some screen time once in awhile, so we included that too.
Disney+
Need we say more? Disney’s streaming service not only has ALL of the new movies and shows that your kids love, but it also has a TON of stuff that we watched and loved as kids. Nostalgic moms, grab your favorite blanket and plop down on the couch for a binge!
Sprinkles!
As you know, City Mom Collective has a special place in our hearts for sprinkles (check out our Just Add Sprinkles podcast!). Think we’re crazy for suggesting ice cream sundaes in Winter? Think again! Click here for the recipe to make SNOW ICE CREAM, and throw those sprinkles on top!
Snow & Ice Scraper Mittens
We don’t care HOW silly these look…they are brilliant!! Warm, cozy mittens and a good ol’ ice scraper, all in one! The scraper extends to reach larger cars and trucks, and the water repellant mittens help your hands stay dry and warm while you clear off the car. Bonus: less than $20!
Snowman Decorating Kit
Do you wanna build a snowman?
Yes, of course we do! This classic snow-day activity is MUCH more fun when you don’t have to run around the house looking for a bunch of coal and a wooden pipe. Check out this adorable snowman making kit!
Yeti Coffee Mug
For the coffee you’ll make in the morning and take all day to drink!
The Yeti vacuum-insulated mug (with lid!) will keep your hot drinks hot and your cold drinks cold, all day long. It’s dishwasher safe, sweat-proof, and comes in a wide variety of beautiful colors.
Snow day coffee, here we come!
Kids Snow Gear
We can’t send those kiddos out to build a snowman and gather snow for snow ice cream if they’re not dressed appropriately!
This snow gear is inexpensive and does the trick – they grow out of it so quickly, we try to keep all snow pants under $20!
Kiwi Crates
After playing in the snow, building the snowman, and eating the snow ice cream, it’s time to come back indoors.
Snow days have never been as fun as they are with Kiwi Crates! Fun, enriching science and art projects delivered right to your door, and great to keep on hand for when you need a sanity saver!
