Inquisitives3The thought of sending my eldest to kindergarten this fall makes me all sorts of sad/happy/teary-eyed/excited/nervous/anxious.  {Read: I”m a hot mess!}

Like so many parts of this motherhood journey, I”m filled with a ridiculous amount of emotion about this milestone in our parenting adventure.

You see, our eldest has yet to attend one day of preschool (gasp?!). For a variety of reasons, we chose to not send her to preschool.  Because of this, I feel a huge responsibility to do whatever I can do to prepare her for her upcoming kindergarten experience this fall.

Although we”ve provided her with a ton of opportunities to work on her social skills, the critical thinking skills are where I”m planning to focus our energies on leading up to this fall. With that goal in mind, I”ve been on the hunt for preschool workbooks to help guide our learning times together. I wanted books to challenge and prepare her for school and life success. Thankfully I was recently introduced to The Little Kid’s Book of BIG Ideas (4 Book Set) from Inquisitives and I can confidentially say that my search for the best workbooks (for us) is over!

InquisitivesBooks

In the The Little Kid’s Book of BIG Ideas (4 Book Set), you”ll find pages upon pages (each book is 100+ pages) of colorful and easy-to-use learning activities for your soon-to-be-kindergartener. The books cover Analogies, Verbal Reasoning, Mathematical Reasoning, and Patterns, Puzzles and Sequences. And the best part of all – my daughter loves them! Since getting the workbooks in the mail, my daughter literally brings them to me each day asking, “Can we do this today?”

This 4 book set is a wonderful tool for moms looking to prepare their kiddos for kindergarten and earns my mommy stamp of approval.

With these workbooks in my “backpocket” and the crossing of my fingers (and toes), I am doing all that I can to make sure my eldest is fully prepared for her first day of kindergarten come August.

Wish me luck (I think I”ll need it more than her!).

  1. I am Loving this concept with the critical thinking activities. It seems to be so much more than the standard “preschool” book. Anxious to try out the analogies and verbal reasoning!

  2. I would Love these!!! These look so different then other pre school books. Extremely interested in the verbal reasoning and analogies!

  3. I would love the verbal reasoning book. I think young children have a hard time with this and any exposure they can get to it early on will just help them as they get older to decipher what their piers or even adults are saying.

  4. Little Kid’s book of Big Ideas: patterns, puzzles and sequencing seems perfect for a pre kindergartener!

  5. These look great! All the sets sound like they would offer a different but important set of skills that my 4 year-old would benefit from. Can’t wait to order some -thanks for the review.

  6. I would love to try out the The Little Big Kids Book Verbal Reasoning. Ty for this amazing opportunity ☺

  7. Followed on instagram twitter and facebook. I think my daughter would love the verbal reasoning. And my son would love the shapes and patterns one. Thanks!
