TheBouqs.com :: Online Flower Delivery Service Review

“Are those real?”

bouqs1Those were the words from my husband after seeing my first floral delivery from The Bouqs Company. And that’s when I knew we had a winner. Flowers are flowers are flowers, right? That’s always been my thinking. When I’m ready to send a bouquet as a gift, I go to the usual 1-800-type suspects, find the best value, and hit send.

But The Bouqs are different. Here’s why:

Where They Are Grown ::

The company has two places in the world where they grow their flowers – a farm off the coast of California….and a volcano. Yes, a volcano! It’s located in South America at the equator, where the sunlight is perfect for bringing out the rich colors found in The Bouq’s flowers.

How They Are Grown ::

The Bouq’s only cut only what they sell, they store the stems for up to 4 days, and they only cut when you order, direct-from-the-farm. Other florists source from a supply chain, store the stems cold for up to 2 weeks, and end up wasting 1 in 3 stems in the process, resulting in a lot of wasted land, resources, labor and fuel. Add the fact that The Bouqs’ farms provide living wages, childcare, healthcare and adult education, and you actually start to feel like your purchase is doing some good in the world.

How They Are Ordered ::

A flat rate of $40, shipping included, no silly teddy bear up-charges. Every single bouquet. You can upgrade from there, but I was graciously offered the original bouquet from The Bouqs Company for this review and was not disappointed. I can only imagine what the $70 Grand bouquet looks like.

(They also send various deals and discounts if you sign up to receive email notifications, plus they have a referral program, so there are plenty of ways these amazing flowers can cost you even less than $40.)

bouqs2How They Are Delivered ::

The roses I ordered were delivered in a long narrow box, like most floral deliveries. All the buds were packaged tightly together in cute craft paper (see photo). But what I absolutely LOVED was I didn’t have to cut a single stem.

I placed them in my pitcher-turned-vase, and they were bouquet-ready: some shorter stems, some longer. Add water, done.

How They Look ::

See husband’s response above. No, but seriously, these flowers are GORGEOUS. When they say the volcano near the sun makes the colors come out in these flowers, they aren’t lying. I ordered the “Dawn”, a bouquet of orange premium roses, which were equated to being “like a breathtaking sunrise”. Considering they’re near the equator, I would say they know what a good sunrise looks like.

If you’re looking for the perfect gift – or if you just like to say cool things like “I ordered you flowers from a volcano” – then The Bouqs should definitely go on your list of Favorite Things. It’s definitely on mine now.

If you’d like to send your first Bouq’s gift to someone, quickly set up your account and place your first order.
