If you are anything like me (and my kids) we LOVE and NEED to be on the move! I have an extremely active first born who has set the pace for our entire family – FAST. As much as I’d love for the pace to be slow and steady, it’s the opposite of that. She practically runs out of her bedroom every morning and asks me what are we doing that day. A combination of playdates at the park, swimming and running an errand or two have kept her and her sisters fairly happy this summer but we’re always looking for another activity to help burn off some of their energy. Luckily, I was recently offered the opportunity to check out our local The Little Gym and it’s now one of our very favorite weekly activities.

The Little Gym is a learning and development center for kids ages four months through 12 years. Each week, The Little Gym offers classes for children of all ages to to try new things and build self-confidence in a safe social setting.  With a diverse line-up of programs you’re bound to find something that your kids will like at The Little Gym.

TheLittleGymMy youngest daughter (age 2) and I went to the Parent and Child class (for ages 4 months – 3 yrs), which she absolutely loved!  The class was a combination of singing, open gym play, organized circle time and structured time to learn some basic gymnastics skills. It was a perfect introduction to a gym class, and I was right there to help her along the way! Bonus: I’m counting this as my exercise for the day too!

After our Parent and Child class ended, my two oldest girlies (ages 4 & 6) hit the mats in their Kids Gymnastics class for 3 to 6 year olds. They really enjoyed being able to attend the class without mom in tow and I was really impressed with the structured environment that allowed them to get their sillies out, while learning some basic skills and exercises. I also loved being able to sit outside of the classroom and observe the class from behind the classroom windows.

Not only does The Little Gym offer the classes we attended, they offer a ton more! They have Sports Skills classes. Karate classes. Dance classes and Music classes (just to name a few).   There really is something for everyone.
