About City Mom Collective

City Mom Collective is a national organization overseeing an ever-growing number of locally focused, collaborative blogs geared toward moms in their communities.

The first site was launched in 2010 in Scottsdale, Arizona by two young moms who saw a need for moms to be able to share local information, recommendations, and build friendships all from the convenience of their mobile phone, tablet or computer. As the Scottsdale Moms Blog grew in popularity, other moms across the country expressed interest in starting something similar in their community. That is how City Moms Blog Network was born. At the end of 2016, the network includes 68 sites across the United States.

City Mom Collective provides turnkey systems for local moms looking to start their own city mom blogs. All sites within this network are owned by women who live and parent in the communities they write about and who are passionate about bringing local information to fellow moms.

Our Mission

MISSION STATEMENT: To connect moms to information and parenting perspectives unique to the communities in which they live; to support women in the growth of their online businesses and help brands reach their audience.

About Stephanie Flies

Founder & Director

Stephanie Flies is the Founder & Director of City Mom Collective; growing the network after founding its original site, Scottsdale Moms Blog, in 2010. After becoming a first-time mom in 2009, Stephanie recognized a need to connect with other moms and started Scottsdale Moms Blog. The site quickly grew in popularity with its unique approach to hyper-local blogging. Tactics included gathering a team of local moms as contributors, capitalizing on visibility in the market to connect local businesses to a desirable demographic, and bringing moms out from behind the computer to special events, which routinely sold out. Soon, moms in other communities took notice and wanted to know how to replicate the success of Scottsdale Moms Blog.

In 2012, Stephanie left Scottsdale Moms Blog to officially launch City Moms Blog Network. Under her leadership, this network of hyper-local mom blogs has grown to 68 (as of 12/2016), with hundreds of moms as site owners, thousands of additional moms as contributors to those sites and millions of readers each month. Now living in the greater Minneapolis area, Stephanie oversees the City Mom Collective network executive team, spearheads growth strategies and individually shepherds and encourages each mom managing her own local parenting website.

Stephanie is a sought-after speaker, respected leader and enviable party hostess. She is married to Alan and is mom to three little girls, Nora, Elsie and Audrey.

Flies is pronounced fl-EECE.
