Celebrating Motherhood Together :: #MomsCelebratingMoms

IMG_1566Here’s the thing with Mother’s Day – moms are the ones who dream up perfect memory filled days and make them happen.

We plan the parties.

We bake the cakes.

We select the perfect party decor (courtesy of a little help from Pinterest of course).

We are the memory makers of our families, a job we are honored to fill in our homes.

And then along comes Mother’s Day, YOUR day to be celebrated.  And things get a little bit complicated.

Am I right?!

Expectations of grandiose Mother’s Days filled with gifts selected after days of forethought and happy children anxious to share their affections and appreciation for their mama fill the hearts and minds of moms near and far.

Sadly, countless moms go to bed at the close of Mother’s Day each year feeling discouraged by the imperfections of the day.

This Mother’s Day, I’ve decided that things will be different. This year, I’m choosing to embrace the imperfections that inevitably come each Mother’s Day and I am embracing the journey of motherhood – not only for myself, but for the other moms around me as well.

In an effort to bless all of the moms who make being a mom possible (and a heck of a lot more fun), let’s link arms and celebrate together next week with #MomsCelebratingMoms.

MCM1_1200x628This week long initiative is our way of celebrating Motherhood together this Mother’s Day.

Starting on May 4th, we’ll be partnering with the lovely ladies at Club MomMe and asking moms across the country (and around the globe!) to share pictures of other moms you are celebrating this Mother’s Day.  It could be your best friend, a fellow mom in a play group, a coworker, a mentor or your own mom!  We’ll ask that you post pics on social media using the hashtag #MomsCelebratingMoms and tagging @CityMomsBlog and @ClubMomMe.

And we’ll even sweeten the deal by adding a #MomsCelebratingMoms Giveaway Prize pack into the mix.

Stay tuned for more info. This job of mothering is hard work so let’s work together to celebrate the highs, lows and everything in between.
