3 kids – 3 year old daughter and 1 year old son/daughter
Do you have another job besides your Sister Site? If so, is it outside the home? Is it full-time or part-time?
No.
Are you an early bird or a night owl? (A.K.A. When do you get most of your work done?)
I’m an early bird – up early to exercise, but I do the bulk of my site work after my kids go to bed at night!
In 5 words, what does a typical day in your life as a Site Owner AND a mommy look like?
Lively, Multi-tasking, Fulfilling, Grateful & Intricate
What would your tagline be?
Building an online community… while changing diapers, blowing bubbles and eating popsicles.
What made you decide to join City Moms Blog Network as a Sister Site Owner?
I was a new mom living in a community that was new to me. I had a strong desire to connect with other moms and to build friendships. I never dreamed that this opportunity would provide that and SO MUCH MORE for me and for my family.
In your opinion what is the biggest benefit to being part of City Moms Blog Network?
The biggest benefit has been the ability to make friends with women I otherwise never would have met, along with being able to essentially be my own boss… and set my own hours. The network as a whole is an amazing compilation of knowledge, experience and has been an enormous support of my own site. It’s so cool to know that I have lifelong friends in women across the US – many who I get to communicate with on a day to day basis.
How do you maintain or try to maintain a work-life balance?
This has been my biggest struggle, but also something that I do have complete control over. When my kids are awake and when they need me I am always right there with them. When they are sleeping or when my husband is around to help, I do my work. I also have hired someone to help me one day a week so that I can have some uninterrupted time to work and also some me-time. I feel SO lucky to be the one who is in control of my hours… I never have to miss a doctors appointment or dance recital. I will be at every tee-ball game and soccer game and will always be able to be present for my children. My toddler has NO IDEA that I even work from home at all… it’s really a very cool thing and something that I never realized could come to fruition.
What is the greatest lesson you have learned as a Sister Site Owner?
The greatest lesson that I have learned has been that we are truly all in this together. And it’s all about finding the right balance. I have learned not to put too much on my plate and to hire and allow others to help out. Knowing my strengths has been helpful and building an awesome team of writers has been invaluable. It’s all about finding your village.
What is the most rewarding thing about being a Sister Site Owner?
Being able to be home with my kids while fulfilling my own creative outlet has been SO rewarding. I truly feel like I am living my dreams!
What piece of advice would you give someone thinking about becoming a Sister Site Owner with CMBN?
This is an amazing opportunity to create your own business where you have the support of 40+ other site owners who are there for you every step of the way!
