Rochester Mom Collective is an online parenting resource and community for Greater Rochester, NY area and Monroe County families with a mission to connect local moms to resources, information, and each other! We are looking forward to forming a community of writers and mothers where people feel confident in our abilities and our content. We hope to bring mothers together who might feel isolated by motherhood. We also hope to breathe life into new businesses who might be struggling, by offering new advertising and social media options.
Rochester Mom Collective encourages moms and builds community by being the central hub for finding parenting local resources, family activities, local businesses and opportunities to connect with other moms.

About Owner Jackie Rutan
Jackie grew up in Ohio and moved to California to work in film where she had lots of adventures in movies and TV. She met her husband in Hollywood and they moved to the San Francisco Bay Area shortly after getting married. In San Francisco, Jackie found work at a medical clinic where she gathered parenting resources for new moms in need. After being on the West Coast for fifteen years, Jackie and her husband moved with their three children to the Greater Rochester, NY area to be near family. Jackie has operated her own photography business, Jackie Rutan Photography, for ten years. Jackie enjoys her quality time with friends and family, fellowshipping at her church and drinking iced coffee.
Why did you start Rochester Mom Collective ?
I had some awesome adventures in film and TV in California but after becoming a mom and finding myself going back to work, I really thought hard about what I wanted to do. I completely switched gears and found work at a medical clinic. It was my job to research and gather local resources for pregnant women and new moms. I was meeting with women who were often in a crisis and were looking for help. I was giving them tools to add to their toolkit as moms. I wanted to start Rochester Mom Collective because I have a heart to help women in need and mothers who need support in Rochester. Rochester Mom Collective will be a place where moms will know they are not alone on this big journey.
What can readers in your community look forward to about your new site?
We have several Rochester Moms on our writing team already who are working hard, putting together great stories and helpful information for our launch. We have a series called “A New Mom’s Story” about moms in those first big moments or weeks who dealt with really complicated issues or were just processing what it means to be a mom now – things that we can all relate to. We are also starting our Go, See, Explore series that showcases a Rochester attraction that you can take kids to, with all of the logistical information you need to know for a successful outing.
