Sister Site Conference 2020: Bringing Our Sisterhood Together

Just three weeks ago, over 100 of our sister-site owners and their team members had the opportunity to come together for 2 days of leadership training, brand-building, social media strategy, sales training and collective inspiration to be the best local parenting resource for the moms in our respective communities.

We have built an online community of business owners and are beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to take these relationships and further develop them offline. After all, one of the biggest benefits in joining our network is the power of our Sisterhood!

Although we live in all different cities in all different states across the US, the site owners and executive team members of our network have truly come to be the best of friends.  Through daily chats online, Facebook groups full of sharing and support, and the occasional in-person meet-ups, this group of women is growing closer by the day, as we all strive to connect the moms in our own communities.  As we share our experiences to help each other build our local businesses, we can truly see the heart of our “sisterhood”.

What better location to connect 100+ moms for a weekend of team building than Walt Disney World??

Thanks to the amazing hospitality of the Walt Disney World staff, we were able to spoil our site owners and their teams with a beautiful event venue at the Coronado Springs Resort.  Attendees enjoyed the gorgeous guest rooms, including some in the brand new Towers, and we all gathered in the beautiful convention center for our meals, sessions, and the 2020 Mum Awards ceremony.

On our first evening in Orlando, we had an opportunity to celebrate our veteran sister site owners (those who have been in the network more than 5 years). First, we gathered for a delicious dinner at Terralina (including the most DELICIOUS homemade ravioli you’ll ever have!) and then we headed over to Splitsville for an evening of bowling, beverages, and bonding. What a way to kick off Sister Site Conference 2020!

When your conference host is Walt Disney World, it’s only natural to assume that the moms’ night out is going to be EPIC, and we were not disappointed!

Our attendees loaded onto buses and headed over to Hollywood Studios, where we enjoyed 2 hours in the park riding rides and having yummy snacks, then gathered together for a spectacular fireworks show and a private Star Wars-themed dessert and opportunity to meet both Chewbacca AND Darth Vader!

The City Mom Collective Mum Awards is an annual recognition of Sister Site achievements as it relates to the values of CMC. The Mum Awards are an opportunity to gather to celebrate our growing network and the leaders within it, highlighting all that our local sites are doing with their businesses to be Excellent, Passionate, Respectful, work with Integrity and to be Inspiring to so many mothers and women in each market.

Brian is a marketing guru who focuses on helping business owners, writers and speakers find the place where income and impact meet. He and his wife Julie live in Charlotte, NC with their three young children.

Back by popular demand, the hilarious improv duo LeeAnn and Michelle joined us as the official MCs for Sister Site Conference 2020.  From funny mom jokes, to spot-on impersonations of our CMC staff, to hilarious reenactments of a “day in the life” of one of the moms in the room, these two never cease to make us laugh until we cry.

Educating our children in this increasingly technological world requires us to keep our minds as open and curious as theirs.
